Application

1.General information
        The pipe-shorting cutter and stopper consist of three main series and six subsidiary series. The former includes drilling machine, pipe-shorting stopper and hydraulic station. The later is made up of connect case (drilling case, cutting case and stopping case), cutter (branch cutter, stopping cutter), clamp valve, flange stopper, support pipe and expanding sleeve. (See the figure 1). They could be matched in different ways depending on different working methods (drill branch hole or stop hole) or the various size of working objects (the size of the pipe or the hole). The user should refer the figure 1 to make choice.

2.Characteristics
        The product is special equipment for pipe cutting and stopping. Without stopping the flowing medium or reducing the pressure in pipe, it can carry out operations such as maintenance, trouble shooting, connecting of branch pipes, replacing or installing of valves, replacing of a piece of pipe, or section replacing of the pipe distribution.
With giving up the working method of reducing the pressure in the pipe, stopping the medium transportation, dismissing the medium and using fire, the product is more economical and has a good effect on environmental protection, and make the work easier and safer than ever.

3.Application range
        The product is applicable to pipeline which transport the medium under pressure or combustible and explosive, or harmful gas or liquid, for example transporting of crude, gas, water or heat.

4.Pressure and temperature
Pressure and temperature in the pipe transporting medium：
A) to drill branch hole: ≤ 6.4Mpa -20℃~80℃
B) to drill stopping hole : ( φ89~φ325) ≤ 6.4Mpa 50℃
                                        ( φ377~φ720) ≤ 1.6Mpa 50℃

Main technical specification

1.HT model pipe-shorting cutter
        HT model pipe-shorting cutter is the main equipment to drill hole. It is divided in four models corresponding with its drilling diameter (See table 1 for details). Among them, HT75 model is personal operated, the others are hydraulic operated.

2.EXP model pipe-shorting stopper
        EXP pipe-shorting stopper is the equipment to deal with stopping medium after HT pipe-shorting cutter drills hole with its matched subsidiary machine. There are three models stoppers corresponding with cutter of HT150, HT300, HT500------EXP150, EXP300, EXP500. Among them, EXP150 and EXP300 are personal operated, EXP500 is hydraulic operated. 3.TPP model hydraulic station
        TPP model hydraulic station is the special equipment for supplying power for the HT model pipe-shorting cutter and EXP model pipe-shorting stopper. Its motor is explosive defense. There is also three models hydraulic station: TPP150, TPP300, and TPP500 corresponding with cutter. The two formers match to HT150, HT300 model cutter, and the later to HT500 model cutter and EXP500 model stopper. See table 4 for main technical specification.

1) Weld support pipe under pressure and drill balance holes, which are for pressure balance of the flange stopper, on the two ends of the pipe to be maintained or placed.
2) Install clamp valve and connect case and drilling machine on the welded support pipe and flange stopper then drill holes.
3) Remove the cutter, install the stopping case and connect stoppers with the branch pipe, connect pressure balance pipe. Operate the stopper on ends of the pipe to stop medium with the expanding pipe. Then clear and cut down the pipe.
4) Reconnect the pipeline with a new one or the maintained one and make pressure balance, remove the expanding sleeve, close the clamp valve, and remove the balance tube, branch pipe, the stopper, and install the flange stopper. Remove the clamp valve and install cover on the support pipe and flange stopper.
